| Experienced folk musician and composer. Plays in the following groups: Groupa, Nordan, Gunnel Mauritzon Group, Gubbatrion, Duo with Tina Johansson - Quartey, Duo/trio with Ellika Frisell/Sven Ahlbäck, Träd with Niss Kerstin Hallgren, Quartet with Stinnerbom-Edén revival and of course solo. I play fiddle, drone fiddle and accordion. Sweden's first "riksspelman" on the one-row melodeon in 1979. Has worked for a long time both in traditional music and newer, freer forms of musicianship in the genre. Teaches at Malmö Academy of Music (fiddle, ear training, music theory, ensemble playing, composition, etc) and The Royal Danish Academy of Music (censor). Researched the folk music of Värmland in the 70's together with Leif and Inger Stinnerbom. Has released a number of recordings on Amigo, MNW, Giga and ECM. |
